Gold Selling Parties
Gold selling parties are a great way for stay-at-home moms to earn an extra income during these hard times. And while it may not give you a steady income, just like an Avon event or Tupperware party, it can provide you with a little extra cash when you need it the most.
Hosting a gold selling party is pretty simple, although there are a few things you will want to keep in mind should you decide to throw one.
First and foremost, if you’re not fond of having strangers in your home or you just don’t have a lot of room, you may want to host the event somewhere away from your home if it’s possible.
But, keep in mind that you could be paying a lot of out of pocket expense if you need to rent a place, which may not be worth if you don’t make enough of a profit from selling your gold.
Second, if you have children, you’ll want to find a babysitter for the party. While hosting a gold selling party can be enjoyable, it should always be treated like a business and not a place where little ones are running around needing your constant attention and care.
Third, you don’t have to sell gold of your own just to host a party. You can probably gather enough friends and family to sell their own old or broken gold jewelry unless you happen to live in a small community where it may be a little difficult to find enough people who are willing to part with their old gold for some cash.
So if you’re still game for hosting a gold party, you’ll want to contact a company who provides services and kits for these types of events.
Just be sure the kit you order contains a weight scale since it will be vital for determining the weight of your gold pieces. And depending on the kit you order, you can even get a guideline for hosting your party.
Or if you don’t want to host a party entirely, you can look for a company who offers full services, so all that you have to do is provide your guests with an invitation, and serve food and drinks.
If you do decide to hire a full service company, an appraiser will most likely be provided instead of a kit. The appraiser will weigh any items offered by the guests that contain the precious metal and then purchase them right there on the spot.
This is usually a better option for stay-at-home moms who don’t want to spend a lot of out of pocket expenses for hosting a party.
Remember, gold selling parties should be fun, but they should also be a little serious. You do want your guests to enjoy themselves, but you want them to get the best possible price for their gold items so they’ll keep you in mind for your next event!
And don’t forget, you don’t have to just play host at one. Why not attend a party yourself and leave the details to someone else.
